Being the parent of an athlete can be challenging. It is an emotional roller coaster of highs and lows. You are the taxi driver, laundry service, chef, personal organiser, and sounding board. You have many roles and lots to juggle.
It is therefore important to gain the support to help you provide the best opportunity possible for your children.
Sports organisations need to provide support and education to parents to help them to support their children in the best possible way. Parents are a valuable resource to sports, as they can offer consistent messaging between the coach and child. They can also help children gain maximum enjoyment from their sport.
Without parents there would be no youth sport!
As such it is incredibly important to provide support and guidance to parents.
Parent Support can be designed to meet your needs.
It can be provided as a series of sessions, a parent resource, or a long-term programme to embed a parent supportive culture.
This work is evidence-based and research-led.
